Call for artists for ‘Past-Present-Future’ juried show
Arts Guild of Sonoma to present an exhibit of work by Bay Area artists
The Arts Guild of Sonoma is preparing to host its upcoming juried show, 'Past-Present-Future,' scheduled for January 2025. This exhibition invites 2D and 3D artists from around the Bay Area to explore the theme of time through their creative expressions.
'We are excited to invite artists to explore the rich theme of 'Past-Present-Future' and share their interpretations with our community,' said Tricia O’Brien, events manager of the Arts Guild of Sonoma. 'This juried show promises to be a celebration of artistic diversity and creativity, reflecting on the timeless essence of human experience.'
Artists are encouraged to delve into the continuum of time, interpreting the past, present, and future through their unique perspectives.
From nostalgic reflections to contemporary commentary and visionary glimpses ahead, 'Past-Present-Future' seeks to showcase the diverse interpretations of time across various artistic mediums.
Emerging and established 2D and 3D artists from Sonoma, Marin, Solano, Alameda, San Francisco, Contra Costa, Mendocino, and Napa counties may enter. The deadline to submit applications to the show is Nov.
15.
The Arts Guild of Sonoma welcomes submissions of original works from sculptors, ceramicists, photographers, print artists, and artists working in mixed media, oil, watercolor, and pastel.
All artworks must be under 25 pounds including framing or base and must be at least 12 by 12 inches and a maximum of 28 by 28 inches. Art must be priced at a minimum of $300 per piece. A fee of $40 allows for two pieces to be submitted for consideration.
The works will be judged by three curators including Linda Keaton, Sonoma Valley Museum of Art’s executive director and chief curator, as well as San Francisco Gallery owners, Greg Lejnieks and Amy Nelder of Chloe Gallery.
The finalists will be selected by jurors on Nov. 29. Artists of selected work will be notified on Dec. 15.
The Arts Guild will hold an artists reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 2.
Proceeds from this show will benefit high school students in Sonoma.
